God Encounter (Wednesdays)
7:00 PM - until
a letter from the pastor
Dear Church Family,
I hope you have noticed that God is doing a transformation at RL. I heard the Lord speak to me last spring over and over from John 11:28 "The Master has come and it calling for you." Those words still ring in my heart. And something is coming from those words, the dead are coming alive again and the Master said "Loose him, and let him go." That is what is happening with us right now. Our grave clothes from the past seasons are being removed and a transformation is occurring.
A few weeks ago Marlin asked if we could change the name of the Wed. Breakthrough meeting to God Encounter. Marlin and I discussed back and forth what the meeting would look like and concluded we could not adequately define it. Over the past three Wednesday's we have experienced exactly that, a real God Encounter and it was different each time. Right call Marlin. We are not defining it other than God Encounter.
As you know in the scripture when God gave someone a new name it was always accompanied by a character change and an impartation of heavenly virtue for a specific task. We have experienced that in the name of our church. So, as of now Wednesday Breakthrough Meeting is Wednesday God Encounter Meeting. We are going to get what we say this year so we are saying God Encounter. We are experiencing a change in the character of the meetings and a different heavenly virtue flowing now.
Here is some of what you can expect on Wednesday nights.
1. We will have a time of praising and worshipping the Lord. Our desire is to always first and foremost minister to the Lord of the house.
2. We have a team of people responsible for leading the meetings. Marlin is the overseer of the team and each week two people are assigned to facilitate what the Holy Spirit is doing by the spirit of wisdom and revelation, gifts of the Spirit and the scriptures. We meet before the meeting for prayer and exchange. Anyone is welcome to pray with us.
3. We will pray, minister to each other, soak, we will heal the sick and set captives free, give words of knowledge and so on when He is doing it.
4. We expect to have a God encounter every week and have a wineskin that is flexible to fit what He is doing whatever that may be.
I look forward to encountering God this year on Wednesday nights.
Blessings, Byron Wicker, Lead Pastor
