Philosophy of Education
The scripture, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” (Proverbs 9:10), is central to our philosophy of education. We believe that educational pursuits based on any other foundation inevitably produce conflict with faith that leads to double-mindedness. Consequently, MCA hopes to establish a learning environment fundamentally full of faith in God, in which students are fully equipped and encouraged to love him with all their hearts, souls and minds. We intend to accomplish this mission by implementing both Christian and Classical models of education, with an emphasis on attentiveness, respect and responsibility. At MCA, we are partnering with you to raise future leaders.
Classical
- Emphasizing grammar, logic, and rhetoric of subjects.
- Encouraging a love for learning.
- Providing an orderly, safe environment for learning.
Christian
- Encouraging students to begin and develop a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
- Emphasizing attentiveness, respect and responsibility as important aspects of our relationship with God and others which require cultivation and practice in every day life.
- Teaching subjects as an integrated whole with scriptures at the center.
- Modeling Christian life through discipleship and mentoring.
